Introduction
Profhilo Structura is a revolutionary next-generation treatment in the Profhilo product line, designed to provide enhanced skin remodelling and anti-ageing benefits. This unique injectable; a sister product to the original Profhilo®, is designed to address multiple signs of ageing, offering a unique approach that goes beyond traditional dermal fillers and skin boosters. Profhilo Structura is the first injectable treatment designed specifically to regenerate superficial facial fat.
It has been specifically designed to restore facial volume and redefine facial contours in the mid face. It targets the superficial fat layers of the face, restoring volume and natural contours that are often lost due to ageing. This means we can use it to help clients address critical age-related concerns such as pronounced facial hollows, skin laxity (loose, crepey skin) and altered facial contours resulting from midface fat loss.
How does Profhilo Structura differ from the original Profhilo?
Whilst both Profhilo and Profhilo Structura contain advanced hyaluronic acid technology, they serve different purposes.
The original Profhilo is injected into the dermis to provide tissue restoration without volumising and its aims are to enhance skin firmness, texture and hydration.
Profhilo Structura is injected into the subcutaneous layer of the skin to facilitate deeper structural remodelling and to regenerate and reposition superficial fat pads. By restoring facial fat, it addresses ageing concerns associated with volume loss. Over time, the face looks more lifted, contoured, and rejuvenated.
What does Profhilo® Structura treatment involve ?
Profhilo Structura injections are administered with a microcannula, using a specific protocol that evaluates facial structure including skin density, skin laxity, midface projection and hollows.
The procedure is relatively quick and discomfort is minimal.
The procedure is minimally invasive with little to no downtime, allowing clients to resume their daily activities immediately after the appointment.

Who is a good candidate for Profilho Structura ?
Profhilo Structura has been designed specifically for those clients experiencing signs of facial ageing i.e. those with facial sinking, sagging or volume loss.
Is treatment painful ?
Profhilo Structura is injected with a microcannula which makes it a more comfortable experience for most clients.
Is Profilho Structura safe ?
Yes, treatment is very safe when carried out by a competent Practitioner.
Profhilo® Structura is a balanced hyaluronic acid product, free from impurities and additives (offering greater safety and reduced side effects).
From a safety perspective, Profhilo Structura is highly biocompatible, owing to the fact that it is made from natural hyaluronic acid and stabilised without the addition of chemical cross-linking agents.
What results can I expect ?
Profhilo Structura is clinically proven to restore superficial fat to its original position, effectively tackling age-related concerns like pronounced facial hollows, skin laxity, and the development of a squarer facial shape resulting from midface fat loss.
In clinical trials 95% of clients noticed lasting enhancements in the mid-face area after their first treatment, with more pronounced improvements visible a month after the second session.
This improvement was sustained three months later, highlighting the lasting benefits of Profhilo Structura. As with every treatment, results will vary from person to person and depends upon the degree of correction required, your age and lifestyle, and to your body’s response to treatment.
NB. Results of the restoration in the adipose tissue will depend on the condition of the condition of this layer at the start of the treatment. Some clients may need additional treatments to increase the effectiveness and manage expectations.
Are there any side effects ?
The side effects are very minimal and most clients return straight to normal activities.
As with any injectable product there is always a risk of bruising. There may be some bumps, swelling or erythema at the injection sites which normally resolves in a few hours.
In some cases this may last for around 24 hrs.
How long does it take ?
Allow 30 minutes.
How many treatments will I need ?
A typical course of Profhilo Structura involves two injectable treatments spaced four weeks apart.
Are there any things I need to know to prepare myself for having a Profhilo Structura treatment ?
This will be discussed with you at your pre-treatment consultation in depth.
Things we need you to be aware of are:
- Avoiding consuming alcohol at least 24 hours before.
- Avoiding blood thinning medication or anti-inflammatories a few days leading up to treatment (these can increase the possibility of bruising).
- Avoid any hair removal a few days before treatment (shaving, waxing, threading) in the area/s you wish treating.
- Avoid using products with anti-ageing ingredients (retinol, alpha hydroxy acids, glycolic acid) a week leading up to treatment.
Is there any after care advice following a Profhilo Structura treatment ?
- Avoid touching the injection sites for the first few hours and keep the treated area/s clean to avoid infection.
- Avoid exposing affected treatment areas to the sun; it is preferable to stay out of the sun/ avoid extremes of heat (hot or cold) for at least 7 days post-treatment.
- Avoid make-up for at least 6 hours post treatment.
- Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs & saunas for 72 hours.
- Avoid strenuous exercise or conditions that cause excessive sweating for 24 hours.
- Avoid alcohol and increase your intake of water. This will keep you hydrated and enable the treatment to work to your skin’s advantage.
- Avoid significant movement or massage of the treated area.
- Avoid any other aesthetic/ cosmetic treatments until all signs of inflammation have subsided (recommend 7-14 days).
Maintenance
The effects of Profhilo Structura can last for several months (average 4-6), with some clients reporting improvements for up to a year after treatment.
It is best practice to have a review appointment following your initial course to assess their need for additional treatment.
