Skin Blemish & Lesion Removal

Advanced Cosmetic Procedures – Skin Blemish Removal

Introduction

Many people are unaware that for just a few seconds of mild discomfort, a range of unwanted bumps and blemishes can be immediately, safely and permanently removed – often with life-changing results.

A.C.P. is probably one of the quickest and most effective ways to remove minor skin blemishes without injections, incisions, down time or surgery. I have been removing skin blemishes and lesions from clients for over 25 years.

How does it work ?

The treatment process is known as cauterisation, which involves the local application of electrical current via a tiny probe or needle. This heats the area to cauterise or destroy the blemish to leave the area neat and tidy.

What skin blemishes / conditions may be treated with ACP ?

A wide range of blemishes / skin conditions may be treated including:

    • Telangiectasia (superficial red veins on the face and body)
    • Campbell de Morgan spots (blood spots)
    • Spider naevi
    • Skin tags
    • Milia
    • All types of warts
    • Small benign moles
    • Seborrheic keratosis and age spots.

How long will it take to remove skin blemishes ?

Some individual blemishes can be safely and completely removed in just a few minutes.

In the case of numerous blemishes, the treatment plan depends on a number of factors including the type of lesion and the individual’s skin reaction.

Though several lesions can be removed in a single appointment, an area of skin must not be over-treated.

If a large number of blemishes within a small area are to be removed, an individual treatment plan will be discussed with you during the consultation.

Is treatment painful ?

The discomfort level is generally so low and treatment quick that a topical anaesthetic is often considered unnecessary. However, a topical anaesthetic is available, if required.

How long does it take ?

Appointments are generally quick and booked for 15 mins to 30 minutes in duration.

What results can I expect ?

Results are often considered to be very good, with little to no marks left on the skin when healed fully.

Will the blemishes return ?

Treated blemishes do not return. However, in some cases, new ones may form depending on the underlying cause. You will be advised about methods of reducing the probability of this during the consultation.

how long will it take to recover from ACP treatment ?

No recovery time as such is necessary.

You can return to work and normal activities immediately after a treatment.

If the area being treated is on your face, you may wish to plan treatment around social events if you do not wish to attend them before post-treatment healing has completed.

Are there any risks or potential complications with ACP ?

When the treatments are performed correctly there is little or no chance of permanently marking the skin.

It is very important that you follow the advice of your practitioner carefully after electrolysis for advanced cosmetic procedures to reduce the risk of any complications.

What is the post treatment advice following an ACP treatment ?

Post-treatment advice may include applying an antiseptic cream after treatment, cleaning and protecting the treated area to avoid infection and not exposing yourself to the sun without applying a high factor sunblock to the treated area.

Is there any Preparation advice I should be aware of ?

You may wish to avoid having treatment around the time of an important event when you want to look your best, or when you are due to go on holiday in the Sun.

Some blemishes such as moles need checking by a Doctor prior to your treatment to ensure they are suitable for cautery.

What happens to the skin following removal of a skin blemish ?

Following removal, the treated area develops a scab (usually within the hour).

The full healing time depends on the type and size of lesion removed and the individual’s normal healing rate.

Most people find that small blemishes are completely healed within a week whereas larger ones may take up to three weeks.

Once the treated area has healed and the scab has fallen off, there is normally a small pink patch which fades over time.

This also depends on the individual and environmental factors and can be a week or two or (rarely) several months.

This pink is easily covered with concealer if this is required.

How much do Treatments cost ?

Please note some blemishes may require several treatments to clear. A free consultation is available to establish the session time required. Time charged is hands on time for blemish/ lesion removal and does not include consultation time, which is free.

Your skin’s tolerance will always be the limiting factor in treatment and therefore longer sessions are only advised if you have multiple areas, or blemishes for treatment.
