What Products are used in a Facial Contouring treatment ?

A mix of medium and maximum thickness dermal fillers are used to produce excellent soft, natural and long lasting results. These products contain Hyaluronic Acid, which is a molecule found naturally in the skin which holds in water, allowing for the intended result of providing structure and volume.

What are the benefits of Facial Contouring treatment ?

There are a number of benefits to using dermal fillers as a facial contouring option. These advantages include:

    • Dermal fillers are a non-surgical procedure – any facial restructuring or shaping was once the remit of surgery only. This would be costly, invasive and require a significant portion of down time or recovery time to allow the facial tissue to heal. In contrast, dermal fillers are simply injections of hyaluronic acid, administered in usually less than two hours. While these may swell and bruise initially, there is no recovery time required, and you can carry on with the rest of your daily plans.
    • Dermal fillers target key areas – injections of dermal filler can be used to target key and specific areas of the face that are often the main focal and structural points. With this procedure, the cheeks, chin and jawline can all be restructured, with added volume, to provide full face contouring in a natural and subtle way.
    • Hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring – dermal fillers involve injections of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance which is particularly concentrated within the skin. As a natural part of the ageing process, this hyaluronic acid is lost, as the body depletes stores and production slows down. leading to sagging and hollow skin, as well as lines and wrinkles. Replacing hyaluronic acid through dermal filler injections, provides your skin with a much needed nutrient boost, as well as replacing any lost volume, allowing the shape and contours of the face to be adjusted in a natural way.

Will the effects of Facial Contouring look natural ?

This procedure is designed to enhance your natural contours and replace lost volume and subtly change shape, where needed. It will always be executed to look natural and blend in to enhance your natural facial features.

What happens prior to a Facial Contouring treatment ?

You will first have a consultation to gain an appreciation of you concerns and expectations. At this point you will have the opportunity to ask questions, and your Aesthetic Practitioner will objectively grade the upper, mid and lower face in terms of structure, proportion and symmetry to prescribe a facial treatment plan, specific to you, improving your face as whole. After a treatment plan has been agreed, and only once you are happy to proceed, you will be asked to read, understand and sign a consent form before the treatment can begin

What happens during a Facial Contouring treatment ?

First, any make-up will be removed, and the area cleaned with anti-septic. Then using a mix of needle and cannula (a blunt instrument) your Aesthetic Practitioner will inject filler into the key areas of the face that require contouring.

What happens after a Facial Contouring treatment ?

The results of Facial Contouring are visible immediately and most people feel confident enough to return to work straight away. There may be some mild swelling, bruising or redness but such side effects are temporary and should resolve within a few days. Once the swelling has subsided the final results of Facial Contouring will take effect over the following 2 weeks.

How long does a Facial Contouring treatment take ?

The entire process normally takes around 45 mins to an hour.

How long does Facial Contouring last for ?

Each client is different in both their facial structure and the rate that Hyaluronic Acid is broken down within the body, and their age so the duration of the results may vary. However, in most cases results can be expected to last up to 12 months.
